Sound Horizon – Hiiro no Fuusha [Moulin Rouge]

October 25, 2013

Hiiro no Fuusha [Moulin Rouge] – 緋色の風車 – The Red Mill

mawaru mawaru hiiro no fuusha [moulin rouge] kirei na hana o sakasete
odoru odoru chiiro no fuusha [moulin rouge] kirei na hana o chirasete

The Red Mill turns and turns, making the pretty flowers bloom
The bloody Red Mill dances and dances, making the pretty flowers fall

chiisa na tenohira ni noseta garasuzaiku
sono houseki o “shiawase” to utau naraba…
sono yoru no pankou wa jidai ni donna tsumeato o nokoshi…
karera ni wa donna kizuato o nokoshita no ka…

They carried a glasswork in their small hands
If we call that gem “happiness”…
Then what blemish did the barbarity of that night leave on the era
And what scar did it leave on them?

yagate “chikara” o hossuru darou…

The crying boy in the role of the weakling tossed about by fate
Will surely soon desire “power”…
But will that be… the shield that can protect the wielder from a great power?
Or will it be… the sword that can pierce through that shield with an even greater power?

nani ga okotta no ka yoku wakaranakatta…
nakisakebu kyouran [lune] no waon [harmonie] yaketa niku no fuumi [saveur]
nani ga osotta no ka yoku wakaranakatta kedo…
tada… hitotsu… koko ni ite wa abunai to wakatta

I didn’t quite understand what had happened
The wailing harmony of madness, the taste of burnt flesh
I didn’t quite understand who had attacked
But I knew this one thing: it was dangerous to be here

motte nigeyou to -> kimi no te o tsukanda…

I took my most precious treasure [thing]
And I ran -> Holding your hand…

aa… wake mo wakarazu iki o kirasete hashitte ita futari

Ah… without knowing why, the two ran until they were out of breath
And the raging men overflowing with greed chased after them…

wake mo wakarazu iki o koroshite furuete ita futari
zetsubou ga afuredasu koto o osorete tsuyoku dakiatte ita–

As if following a path of stardust, the two reached the forest, hidden in darkness…
Without knowing why, they trembled, holding their breath
Frightened of the overflowing despair, they held each other tightly–

fui ni kimi no shitai [karada] ga chuu ni ukanda ->
obiesugaru you na me ga <- nigedashita boku no senaka ni yakitsuita…

Suddenly, your body went flying into the air, lifeless ->
I could feel your frightened gaze <- burning into my back as I ran away…

kuruoshii {kisetsu} [toki] o hete… shounen no {toki} wa ruten suru…

Having come through a season of madness, the boy’s life is transformed…

mawaru mawaru {hiiro no fuusha} [moulin rouge] yaketsuku {toki} o okutte
odoru odoru {chiiro no fuusha} [moulin rouge] kogoeru {shunkan} [toki] o mukaete

The Red Mill turns and turns, sending off a burning time
The bloody Red Mill dances and dances, coming to meet a freezing moment

aa… moshi umarekawattara chiisa na hana o sakaseyou…

Ah… if we could be reborn, let’s make some small flowers bloom…
I’m sorry… next time I won’t run away; I’ll stay and fall by your side…

(“soko ni Roman wa aru no kashira?”)

(“Could a story be found over there?”)

NOTES:

The words in square brackets are what is sung, where it differs from what is written in the lyrics booklet. The stanzas in parentheses are not in the lyrics booklet and have been transcribed by ear.
