Sakamoto Miu – Shigure no Mori

December 12, 2014

Shigure no Mori – 時雨の森 – The Rainy Autumn Forest

dokomademo aruita shigure no mori o
toki ni himeta kioku sagashimotomete
tooku hibiku koe ima demo kikoete’ru

I walked everywhere in the rainy autumn forest
Searching for the memories hidden in time
Even now, I can hear the voice that echoed in the distance

itsu no hi ka anata mo kiete yuku nara
tomo ni sugoshita toki mo kiri ni magireta
namida kawaite’ku kizuato kiete yuku

If someday you too disappear
The time we spent together will be lost in the mist
My tears will dry; my scars will fade

mado kara no keshiki toki ga kaete shimau koto
osorenu you ni tebanashita, itoshii mono koso o.

Time changes the scenery outside my window
So that I wouldn’t be afraid of it, I let go of what was precious to me

itsumademo aruita shigure no mori o
anata o omou tabi ni namida nagareta
tooku hibiku koe ima demo kikoete’ru

I walked all the time in the rainy autumn forest
Whenever I thought of you, my tears flowed
Even now, I can hear the voice that echoed in the distance

mado kara no keshiki toki ga kaete shimau koto
osorenu you ni tebanashita, itoshii mono koso o.

Time changes the scenery outside my window
So that I wouldn’t be afraid of it, I let go of what was precious to me

“hanarenai you ni.”
negai sae tebanasu koto oboehajimeta sono te o nigirishime, atatemete.

“May we never be separated.”
Beginning to remember that I’d let go of even that wish, I gripped your hand tightly to warm it.

(Original lyrics by Sakamoto Miu.)
