Lia / Key Sounds Label – Birthday Song, Requiem

December 31, 2015

takai ki ni kakushita chiisa na nukumori
awatete te o nobashita
kaze no you ni sakenda

A small warmth was hidden in the tall tree
Confused, I reached out my hand
And howled like the wind

mata me o harasu boku o waratte hoshii
umareta hi kara bokura ga yuku tsuyosa to

I want you to laugh at me with my eyes swollen from crying again
Since the day we were born, we’ve been going forward with strength

hikidashi ni shimatta kawaranai mono o
boku wa nigirishimeta
suna no you ni kowashita

Something that wouldn’t change was shut away in a drawer
I clutched it tightly
But it crumbled like sand

mata me o tojite boku wa netsu o shitta
umareta hi kara nagarete yuku chishio to

Closing my eyes again, I knew fever
Since the day I was born it’s been flowing with my blood

takai ki ni kakushita inochi no owari mo
yasashii omoide made
tori no you ni tobashita

Even the life’s end hidden in the tall tree
Flew like a bird
Into tender memory

mata me o harasu boku o waratte hoshii

I want you to laugh at me with my eyes swollen from crying again
Even on the day I was born, without knowing it, I was already walking

mou nakanai to chikatta hi wa tooku
umareta hi kara bokura wa yuku tsuyosa to

The day on which I swore not to cry anymore is far in the past
Since the day we were born, we’ve been going forward with strength
