ALI PROJECT – Lolita in the Garret

February 20, 2019

ATORIE no madobe kara
RUDON BURUU no sora kobore
FUROA o nuritsubusu

The Redon-blue sky spills[1]
Through the window of the studio
Painting over the floor

yoake mae satta hito
hiroi SHIITSU wa tsumetaku
kawaranu asa o tsutsumu

He left before dawn
The wide sheets are cold
As they wrap up the unchanging morning

Tu sais, Je t’aime

Tu sais, Je t’aime
kono tsugi wa
dokoka watashi o tsuresatte
mada shiranu jiyuu o nozokitai no
otona no zurusa wa
shitte’ru kedo

You know, I love you
Next time,
Take me with you somewhere
I want to catch a glimpse of a freedom I’ve never known
Though I know that adults
Are often dishonest

kakikake no jigazou to
kagami ni utsushita kao wa
yogoto ni kakehanare

The unfinished self-portrait
And the face reflected in the mirror
Are looking less and less alike every night

koi dake de iki o suru
watashi wa utakata no hibi
yokushitsu de shizumetai

It’s for love alone that I breathe
I want to drown these ephemeral days
In the bathtub

Tu sais, Je t’aime

Tu sais, Je t’aime aeru made
anata o manabitsudzukeyou
KAFE METORO DO RU MUZEE
doko ni ite mo
anata no shisen de
nazotte’ru no

You know, I love you
Until we can meet
I’ll keep studying you
In a cafe, on the metro, at art museums
No matter where I go
I feel your gaze following me

Tu sais, Je t’aime

Tu sais, Je t’aime sugu ni kite
douka watashi o tsurete’tte
nani mo kamo kirameku sono basho e

You know, I love you; come to me soon
Please take me away
To that place where everything shines

Monsieur,

Monsieur, doushite ai wa
utsuroi hito o kaeru no ka
yogorenai omoi ga shinjitsu ka
subete o anata ni
oshiete hoshii

Monsieur, why does love
Change, and change people, too?
Are these unblemished feelings truth?
I want to tell you
Everything

Notes:

[1] Probably a reference to the artist Odilon Redon.
