Commissions

I will take commissions to translate song lyrics from Japanese (or any other language I speak, on the off chance that anyone is interested) to English. Prices start at US$5 for a standard-length song with official lyrics available. Songs that are over six minutes, have particularly complicated lyrics (like Sound Horizon‘s works), or do not have official lyrics that are easily accessible will have additional charges due to the greater time and effort involved. A translation that can be sung to the tune of the original song will also cost extra. Providing me the original lyrics, in the form of either a link to a website such as Uta-Net or Kasi-Time or a scan of the lyrics booklet accompanying the CD, is greatly appreciated. I accept payment via PayPal.

Translations into languages other than English (with the understanding that I am not a native speaker) and of material other than song lyrics are negotiable. (I will not, however, translate an entire novel, much less an entire manga or anime series.) Here and here are sample prose translations and here is a sample of a magazine article.
