Shiseru Eiyuu-tachi no Tatakai (Heromachia) – 死せる英雄達の戦い (Ηρωμαχια) – The Battle of the Dying Heroes (Heromachia)

「Leon! …ああ…Leontius!」)

(“Shi o maneku murasakizuishou no hitomi, ano mono to tatakatte wa narimasen.”
“Naze desu, haha-ue?”
“Anata wa heibon na sei yori, eiyuu to shite no shi o nozomu to iu no desu ka”
“Haha-ue, shisubeki mono-tachi ga, watashi o matte iru no desu”
“Ikanaide okure! Ano mono wa…”
“Haa!”
“Leon! …aa…Leontius!”)

(“You must not fight the one with the amethyst eyes that beckon death.”
“Why is that, Mother?”
“Would you prefer a heroic death to an ordinary life?”
“Mother, those destined to die await me.”
“Please don’t go! He is…”
“Hah…”
“Leon! … Ah… Leontius!”)

(「Amethystos

(“Amethystos-shougun ni tsudzuke!”)

(“Follow General Amethystos!”)

The chronicle of Mythos is as rapid as the blink of an eye.

(“Kosame ga chirachira to wazurawashii desu ne…”
“Anzenken kara shika utenu koshinuke domome!”
“Kyuuhei wa, aite ni sezu to mo ii. Orion naki ima, yatsura wa tada no jako ni sugin…”
“Kakka, teki no shikikan wa dou yara…”
“Chototsumoushin shika shiranu baka no you desu ne”
“Desu na”
“SHIRIUSU, omae no butai wa hidari! ORUFU, omae no butai wa migi kara maware, kyougeki suru zo!”
“Ryoukai!”)

(“This drizzle is such a nuisance…”
“These cowards only strike from the safe zone!”
“We probably shouldn’t worry about the archers. Without Orion they’re no real threat.”
“Your Excellency, the enemy’s commander…”
“He’s nothing but an idiot without a strategy.”
“Mm, I suppose so.”
“Sirius, you lead your forces to the left, and Orph, you lead yours to the right–we’ll take them in a pincer movement!”
“As you wish!”)

(Athanatoi…)

(The Undying Ones…)

fushin naru mono ga nagiharau akai akai shi no nagisa

The Athanatoi mow down their opponents, making a red, red shoreline of death
Though now they are mute corpses, they once had their own stories

But fate [Moira] would not allow them even a small hope [future]

kawarihateta karera ni kuchidzuke suru mono wa
aisuru koibito [hito] de wa naku ueta hagetaka nomi…

The ones who kiss these completely changed forms
Are not their loved ones, but only starving vultures…

Omae o mamoru tate ga, dare no chi ni yotte kizukareta mono ka o naa!”
“Gourei o, kakka!”
“Totsugekiiiii!!”)

(“It’s been a long time, Ilion… But we have not forgotten whose blood is built into the shield that protects you!”
“Your orders, Your Excellency?”
“Attaaaaaack!”)

(“Heika! Ilion ga ochimashita…!”
“Nani!?”
“Kudan no Amethystos hikiiru, dorei butai no shiwaza no you desu…!”
“Baka na. Anemosu no kago atsuki, ano jouheki o…”
“Anemosu no kenzoku, eiyuu Ilias o uchitaosu hodo no buyuu, yatsu wa mata heika to onajiku, kami no kenzoku na no ya mo shiremasen zo!”)

(“Your Majesty! Ilion has fallen!”
“What!?”
“It’s the work of the army of slaves led by that Amethystos!”
“Inconceivable! With the walls under the divine protection of Anemos…”
“He’s strong enough to fell the hero Ilias, descendant of Anemos! It may be that he has divine blood just as Your Majesty does!”)

Regulus wa toui [Barbaroi] ni sonaero
Zosma wa hokuteki [Amazon] ni sonaero
Castor wa seito [Ilion] e tomo o
warera raijin ni tsuranaru mono [Arcadios] minna ikite mata aou zo!

Regulus, lead your troops against the Barbaroi!
Zosma, lead your troops against the Amazons!
Castor, to Ilion with me!
We Arcadians, the descendants of the God of Thunder, will survive this battle and meet again!

“unmei wa zankoku da saredo kanojo o osoreruna
megami [Moira] ga tatakawanu mono ni hohoemu koto nado keshite nai no dakara”

“Fate is cruel, but do not fear her
Because Moira surely will not smile on those who do not fight”

“Humans do not all have to be powerless slaves forever!
We will fight fickle fate [the fickle gods] to take back our future!”

At last the paths of the two beasts have crossed

(“Yatsu ga Arcadia no… nikiji no kokuou… Misia no ada!!”
“Yuusha Demetrius ga shi, Leontius. Watashi ga aite ni narou!”
“Nozomu tokoro daa!!”)

(“He’s the king of Arcadia, this country I hate… he’s Misia’s enemy!!”
“I am Leontius, son of the hero Demetrius. I will be your opponent.”
“This is the chance I’ve been waiting for!”)

ubaiau jidai [toki] no haken towa naru shirabe yo
kakemawaru suusei seimei [sei] wa ryuusei setsuna no kirameki

The hegemony of an era of conflict; O, eternal melody!
Trends keep going around; life is a shooting star, a momentary gleam

(「Amethystos、

(“Amethystos, yahari tadamono de wa nai na…!”
“Kono otoko… tsuyoi…!”
“Naze kore hodo no otoko ga…”)

(“Ugh… this Amethystos is surely no ordinary man…!”
“This man is… strong…!”
“Why would a man of such ability…”)

shiseru mono [mouja]-tachi ga kakenuketa shinwa no jidai yo
hofuriau eiyuu shishite meiyuu sariyuku unmei [sadame]

The dying ones raced through the era of myth
The heroes who slaughter each other, the unhappy friends of Hades[1], are fated to pass away

(Leontius──
Elefseus──

(Leontius
“Amethystos… Hellenes no omae wa naze, Barbaroi no shinryaku ni katan suru no da?”
Elefseus

(Leontius
“Amethystos… you are a Hellene, too. Why do you assist the Barbaroi in their invasion?”
Elefseus
“What has this country ever given me? It’s only taken away those I love!!”
“Hah!”)

「Leon、Elef、

(“Oyamenasai!”
“Ha, Haha-ue!?”
“Leon… Elef… Oyamenasai…”
“Haha-ue… Moira yo…gufu…”
“Watashi o oite yukuna! Yurusan zo… Leonti–!”
“Uu!! Gufuu…”)

(“Please stop!”
“M- Mother!? … Whaaaa!”
“Leon… Elef… please stop–!”
“Mother… O, Moira… ohh…”
“Don’t leave me! I’ll never forgive you… Leonti–!
— ghkk–“)

(Thanatos…)

Notes:

[1] This is a bit of wordplay that would be a real headache to translate effectively, so I confess I didn’t really try. “Meiyuu” (盟友) means “ally” or “sworn friend,” but here it’s written with the character “冥”, which means “gloomy” both in the attitude sense and the absence-of-light sense, and is also part of the Japanese name for Hades, Meiou (冥王). Plus it rhymes with the “eiyuu” (英雄), “hero(es),” earlier in the line. Alas, I don’t really have the translating chops to get all that in there.

The words in square brackets are what is sung, where it differs from what is written in the lyrics booklet. The stanzas in parentheses are not in the lyrics booklet and have been transcribed by ear; they may contain errors.
